The short answer
N Financial Plans is a fee-only, fiduciary financial planning firm at 179 New York Avenue in Huntington. We accept zero commissions and sell no products. We meet with clients in person by appointment, and by video for clients across Long Island and nationwide.
What fee-only means when you are choosing an advisor
Fee-only means the advisor is paid only by clients, not by commissions or product providers. That is one piece of the picture. It helps you see how the advisor earns money, and it is worth pairing with questions about experience, services, and fees. Our fee-only vs fee-based guide walks through the difference in detail.
How we work with clients
We offer several ways to work together, so you can choose the level of support that fits:
- One-time financial planning sessions
- Ongoing, subscription-based financial advice
- Financial planning together with managed assets
Our team holds CFP®, IRS Enrolled Agent (EA), and CRPS™ designations, so planning, tax, and retirement plan questions can be handled in one place. Current packages are on our fees page.
Who we work with
We work with retirees and near-retirees, business owners and executives, medical and legal professionals, and families at many stages of life. We do not set a minimum net worth.
Our founder grew up on Long Island, and that shapes the firm: plain language, no pressure, and a willingness to start wherever you are.
Questions to ask any financial advisor in Huntington
- How are you paid, and are you paid by anyone besides me?
- Are you a fiduciary for all of the advice you give?
- What credentials do you hold, and how can I verify them?
- What will I pay in a typical year, all in?
- Who will I work with day to day?
- What does the first 90 days look like?
A low-pressure way to start
If you already work with an advisor and want a fresh set of eyes, we offer a complimentary financial second opinion. It is a review of your current approach, not a pitch, and it does not assume anything needs to change.
